Jesus Loves YOU!

This morning, I got up early again and wrote a couple of daily scriptural guides for Liturgical Press on God’s mercy.

Right after I put the period on the last sentence, I received a random direct message from a priest based in Rome who I follow on Twitter. I have never heard from him directly before.

His message to me was this: “The language of love is the only language that everybody understands . . . Jesus loves you so much. Let love reign! Pax et Caritas Christi+”

I received this “coincidence” as a sign of approval from the Holy Spirit. It was definitely a God wink, and I like to think a confirmation of the work I am doing to spread the Good News.

When “coincidences” like this happen, I feel the presence of Christ even more. I know he is always with me, but sometimes—like this morning—I feel that he communicates directly with me through others. It is powerful and unmistakable when it happens.

That brief interaction brought me joy this morning. And I understand today that it is my job to pass that joy on to others as much as possible today (and always). The best way to do that is through love.

The message this morning reminded me of a song my mother used to sing to me when I was a little girl:

Jesus loves me, this I know,

For the Bible tells me so;

Little ones to Him belong;

They are weak, but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me,

Yes, Jesus loves me,

Yes, Jesus loves me,

The Bible tells me so!

This is the Good News that Jesus wants me to share: He loves you unconditionally, no matter what! Pax et Caritas Christi (Peace and Love of Christ).

Pass it on!
